What is menstrual cycle coaching?

Work with me

Hello and welcome:) My name is Rae (she/her) ~ I’m a menstrual cycle educator and coach. My curriculum and approach is highly integrative and intersectional.

My background

Informing my work is the weaving together of scientific research on the hormones and cycle, neuroscience, psychology, and somatic psychotherapy, including a highly trauma informed perspective, critical examination of culture and history and how societal narratives show up in our bodies every day, ecological + earth based knowledge, mindfulness and Buddhist perspectives, wilderness rites of passage, reclaiming of the erotic, and more.

I have a BA in Neuroscience, am currently completing an MA in Somatic Psychotherapy, have 10+ years working in experiential education, curriculum design and wilderness guiding, and 10+ years researching and working with the menstrual cycle.

I am also a musician, dancer, tender of the land, and former Waldorf student (aka earth child from the start).

Who I work with

I currently work with adult menstruators (age 18+, sliding scale).

This work is for you if you have a menstrual cycle (all genders and identities welcome). Whether you are struggling with cyclical symptoms (such as PMS or PMDD) or wanting to develop a deeper understanding and connection to your body and cycle, this space is for you.

I work best with individuals who are eager to learn and explore, long to feel a greater sense of connection and reciprocity with themselves and the world around them, want to attune to their deepest selves and lead from within, who value relationship, connection and reciprocity, who long to move slower, feel more deeply, and find more space in this fast moving world of ours.

Structure

I work with individuals 1:1 and also have group offerings.

I also have seasonal Group offerings.

My Approach

I have been trained by the Berkeley Hall of Science and Outward Bound in designing curriculum based on how people actually learn.

For this reason, our work together will be highly experiential, relational, attuned to you and integrative. You can expect a mixture of: educational material (always brief and palatable), personal exploration through writing, art, movement, nature, and other modalities, guidance in personal tracking and mindfulness tools as well as frameworks to interpret and understand your newfound knowledge, and more.

In our work together I will invite you to find greater empowerment, connection, curiosity, purpose, belonging and vitality through softening, opening, holding, connecting, listening, tending, giving and receiving.

  • I use a trust-based sliding scale framework that recognizes we each hold different levels of financial access and systemic privilege. Please read the tiers below and choose the rate that feels most honest for your current situation.

    Sustainer Rate

The high end of the sliding scale. Choose this rate if you have financial stability and access to resources that allow you to comfortably meet your needs.
    You might:

    • Have steady income, savings, or generational support

    • Own property or have investments

    • Travel or purchase non-essentials with ease

    • Want to support others’ access to this work

This rate helps keep the practice sustainable and allows me to offer reduced-cost spots to others.

    Standard Rate

The middle of the sliding scale. Choose this rate if you are covering your needs but with limited flexibility.
    You might:

    • Have steady or moderate income, but little savings

    • Carry some debt or face financial trade-offs

    • Afford basic needs and small extras, but not without effort/planning

    • Benefit from paying a fair rate while still honoring your budget

This is the true cost of the service and reflects the baseline needed to sustain the work.

    Supported Rate

Choose this rate if you are experiencing financial hardship or systemic barriers to wealth or stability.
    You might:

    • Have difficulty meeting basic needs (rent, food, bills)

    • Be unemployed, underemployed, or in a major life transition

    • Have significant debt or no financial safety net

    • Rely on this reduced rate to access support

This tier is made possible by those paying at higher levels.

Testimonials

  • The work of being human is learning how to be in good relation. This means learning to listen, learning to be present, learning to respond with care. These are not things that happen once, but things we choose again and again.

    Leanna Betasamosake Simpson

  • The most important thing each of us can know is our own unique gift and how to use it in the world. Individuality is cherished and nurtured, because, in order for the whole to flourish, each of us has to be strong in who we are and carry our gifts with conviction, so they can be shared with others

    Robin Wall Kimmerer

  • I tell them that we can choose to be perfect and admired or to be real and loved. We must decide. If we choose to be perfect and admired, we must send our representatives out to live our lives. If we choose to be real and loved, we must send out our true, tender selves. That’s the only way, because to be loved we have to be known. If we choose to introduce our true selves to anyone, we will get hurt. But we will be hurt either way. There is pain in hiding and pain outside of hiding. The pain outside is better because nothing hurts as bad as not being known. The irony is that our true selves are tougher than our representatives are. My tender self was never weak at all. She was made to survive the pain of love. My tenderness is my strength. Turns out that I never needed to hide. I was a Warrior all along.
